NITA-U Convenes Leaders to Drive Trust and Efficiency in Public Services Through UGPass
The National Information Technology Authority Uganda (NITA-U) has today hosted a high-level CEO Breakfast Meeting to engage leaders across the public sector on UGPass, Uganda’s Single Sign-On and authentication platform.
The meeting brought together leaders in the public sector to discuss how the UGPass, Uganda’s digital authentication and e-signature platform, can improve service delivery, enhance security, and strengthen business competitiveness in Uganda’s digital economy.
In his remarks, Dr. Hatwib Mugasa, NITA-U Executive Director noted that the National Information Technology Authority Uganda (NITA-U) is driving efforts to ensure Uganda fully transforms into a digital economy. He expressed confidence that these efforts will bring about transformative change over the next five years, positioning the country as a leader in innovative, citizen-centered digital services.
Dr. Hatwib asserted that UGPass empowers citizens by giving them control over their personal data while ensuring that only verified Ugandan citizens can access its services. He further noted that this rigorous verification process enhances trust and security, making UGPass a fast, safe, and convenient way for individuals and organizations to sign and seal documents online, a contribution to digital trust that has earned global recognition.
Through UGPass, NITA-U is building a trusted ecosystem for documents and creating real value from personal data. Building on this vision, UGPass stands out as a key tool in Uganda’s digital transformation. By giving citizens control over their personal data and ensuring that only verified Ugandans can access its services, UGPass creates a secure and trusted environment for digital transactions.
