Trace Uganda by Ministry of Health and NITA-U is aimed at protecting you and your family from COVID-19. All you need to do is register with your phone number and you're in. Your phone number is only required for registering into the app and to be contacted if you request so by a contact tracer from the Ministry of Health. No passwords are stored for that matter 

How it works

Trace Uganda is a community-driven contact tracing app to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Trace Uganda uses Bluetooth to determine if you are near another Trace-Ug user. The proximity data is stored only on your phone. Ministry of Health will seek your consent to upload the data, if it's needed for contact tracing 

 

What information do we collect? 

Your tracing information that is information of other the devices you've been tracking over 21 days. This data is only provided by you at your own consent. 

Since we do not use of GPS, we do not track your location and neither do we pass your details on to third parties. 

Your phone number is only used to identify you as a valid user 

 

Credit Card Details 

No credit card details are needed to use Trace Uganda Information  

 

Data Collection

The following are data the application collects when you sign in: 

Your device operating system 

Your device model, required to exchange information with other Bluetooth devices 

Your Bluetooth signal strength 

Your device battery power 

Other Trace user device information

There is absolutely no personal data of you collected in the application
