Standards for Structured Cabling for Government MDAs.

The National Information Technology Authority Uganda (NITA-U) is a semi-autonomous corporate body established under the NITA-U Act 2009, to coordinate and regulate Information Technology services in both Government and the Nation at large.

 

One of the core functions of NITA-U is to set, monitor and regulate standards for Information Technology planning, acquisition, implementation, delivery, support, organization, sustenance, disposal, risk management, data protection, security and contingency planning.
In light of the above function, the NITA-U embarked on the development of the following Guidelines and Standards for Structured Cabling to support IT Rationalization programme in the Government MDA.

 

The Guidelines and standards herein have been developed with reference to International best practices and shall be utilized to provide guidance in the process of implementing structured cabling to enhance the delivery of voice, data and video conferencing services across the different Government MDAs.
