NITA-U hosts Uganda Police Force (UPF) ICT Cadet Officers

104 Uganda Police Force ICT Cadet Officers visited NITA-U offices for a study tour to get to know the operations of the Authority

 

The Officers were taken through an overview of programs and projects that are currently implemented by NITA-U.

 

They received training on the mitigation of cybercrime as well as information on the NBI, Cyber Laws, eGovernment Services and Technical Services.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Rowena Turinawe the Director eGoverment Services (Ag) emphasized NITA-U’s commitment to advance e-Government initiatives to improve Government efficiency in service delivery to citizens.

 

This will be done with the right IT infrastrure in place like the NBI which is now operational and in its third phase of implementation and through integration of Government systems.

 

As part of the tour the officers toured a number of installations under the projects that are currently implemented by NITA-U

• MAN Centre

• NBI Data Centre

• Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Centre at Statistics House

• Network Operation Centre

• Information Access Centre
